Shark bites

Charles didn’t have a good day today. He wore his new shirt and took in his stuffed shark from the trip. Charles really liked his shark, he held it most of the way back in the and insisted on sleeping with it when we got home. But he seems to be alone in his fondness for it, as none of the other children wanted to play with it. Charles was quite grumpy about it when he got home. Even building his new Lego™ van didn’t cheer him up. Not the best way to start his last week, but there was no way he could have been convinced to not take in his shark.

What???? Bix loves sharks, so I can’t believe that he wasn’t interested. That sucks for Charles, though.

Yes, I feel bad about it, but it’s part of his socialization. Expecting everyone else to always like what you like is not a recipe for success. The kids may have just wanted to do something else that day. I suspect he’ll get over it in a day or two.

I got to see the shark yesterday (31 May) at school! The shark is cool, but apparently it doesn’t hold a match compared to toys like transformers, which is what the boys seemed to be clammering to play with today as I dropped Bix off.

On another note, probably better that the children don’t play too much with the stuffed shark, as it would end up all gross and snotty!
