I’ve mentioned in passing that Alice has an obsession with toilets. She is a baby possessed, actually. Sometimes I get her clothes on by putting them in front of her and pointing her at a toilet. Zoom, she’s off and right in to the selected outfit. Mom has to shut the door between the media room and the downstairs hallway (which contains the downstairs bathroom) to prevent Alice from wandering off and interacting with the toilet in an unsupervised fashion. As I write this, Alice is leaning up against the closed door, mewling because she can see the door to the bathroom but can’t go in and gnaw on the bolt covers at the base of the toilet.
At least it’s improving Alice’s spatial memory. If I put her in the boy’s room while I’m trying to get the boys dressed in the morning, she understands that she can crawl from there over to the kids’ bathroom which, wonder of wonders, has a toilet. So, at least it’s been educational for her.
