As Mom noted, Alice likes to stand up while we are trying to feed her in her high chair. This completes the set, as Corwin and Charles also like to stand during dinner.
Corwin is less rowdy then he used to be, but he frequently will just stand at the dinner table while eating, instead of sitting down. If forced to sit, he likes to push his chair back as far as physically possible from the table.
Charles likes to stand and bounce around in his chair, although he’s starting to wander about during dinner. He definitely enjoys it and frequently announces things like “I’m bouncing!”.
Given that Alice doesn’t talk yet and the boys refuse to divulge any information about their time out of the house, dinner table conversation tends to go like this:
Dad: [to Mom] So how was your day?
Mom: Well, I was talking to —
Charles: I standing!
Dad: Charles, sit!
Mom: I was talking —
Dad: Corwin! Sit!
Corwin: [grumble]
Mom: Hands off your ear, elbow off the table.
Dad: And pull your chair up.
Mom: Oh! Alice! [frantically grabs to prevent head first tumble]
Charles: [runs over to over-vigorously comfort Alice] baby baby baby!
Mom: Charles, that’s enough. Sit.
Dad: You were saying?
Mom: I was —
Corwin: Can I be done?
Charles: Milk! [waves empty sippy cup]
Alice: Gek! [clears her chair of all food by sweeping it to the floor]
It’s nice to see the whole family being involved.
